The HOT-TO-GO series began with a large painting I created last summer, inspired by the Channel Tres song All My Friends. I threw a rooftop birthday party, invited everyone I loved, and made a large, vibrant painting for guests to take selfies in front of. After the party, I hung it in my apartment, where it still greets me daily with warmth and joy.
Later that year, on a very cold winter day, I took close-up photos of that canvas and was struck by how much energy and optimism each small section still held.
Those details became the HOT-TO-GO series: take-away details of joy, warmth, and memory.
The warm colors of a golden hour sunset glide across the canvas and hover in that magic moment before the sun goes down.
