I work with a hybrid technique of combining a drawing with digital painting. I scan the drawing and then paint it using pixels in Photoshop. This method preserves the sharpness of the curves and lines and the flow of each gesture.
The plush red-pink orb sweeping in from the upper right corner looks like a maraschino cherry being shot from a cannon. It’s just about to bounce off the big curve waiting below. Squiggles, smudges, accents, and directional marks lead the eye in a rhythmic tour around the composition creating a choreography of shapes, colors and markings.
