This drawing was made spontaneously, letting the shapes and curves emerge intuitively and play off one another in the moment. Then I scanned the drawing and painted it with pixels in Photoshop. This method preserves the crispness of the lines and flow of each gesture.
The plush red-pink orb sweeping in from the upper right corner looks like a maraschino cherry being shot from a cannon. It’s just about to bounce off the curves that are waiting below. Squiggles, smudges, accents, and directional marks lead the eye in a rhythmic tour around the composition creating a choreography of shapes, colors and markings in an overall movement that hopscotches across different planes, all at once.
