The original piece is so rich with elements, colors and vignettes that the parts of it can stand on their own, as well as contribute to the whole, when all together.
The original piece started with the background, which is a photo, a window-selfie that I took of myself looking at a piece of art in a gallery window on 10th Avenue in New York City. I refined the photo, blurred some lines, and made it like a receptive canvas for the elements that went on top of it … sketches, paintings, pieces of photographs and postcards … the energy of this piece really came together synergistically.
