Layers on layers … I started with a pattern, printed on acrylic. The pattern was made up of a shrunken repeat of a floral scene, combined with a striped border. I looked at it on the wall for months and it just didn’t feel like enough, like it was waiting for something to happen.
So I started with pieces from a photos that I took in the Gucci Garden in Florence in 2018, a photo shoot that I love to return to, as that place is a magical kingdom on Earth.
I added some brown corrugated for grounding, and some shapes and painting pieces, and voilà!—now it lives.
