I love to combine elements from disparate sources and weave them together into a new story. Of course each of the elements carries its own provenance—from a different place, time, era of my life—so it is their unique combination that makes the story of the piece so specific.
The elements here, start out with the background, which is a photograph of the window of the Chanel store in SoHo, when it was under construction in the Spring of 2025. The digital print collage in the upper right was built in the late 80s or early 90s, showing a print ad for the Odeon restaurant in Tribeca, among other things. And there’s a fabric swatch from the photo shoot I did at the Gucci Garden in Florence in 2018, as well as a strip of a pattern of my own, Cake 2.
