I often have paint left over on my palette from another piece, and rather than waste it, I developed a technique where I tear and cut strips of paper, drag them through the remaining paint, and use them as layered elements to build the structure of a composition. This piece is full of so many beautiful, blended hues of blue and lavender that are both calming and energizing at once.
The title, Golden Stretch of a Day, came from the feeling I had while making it. I had set aside the entire day just to paint, and that sense of freedom and happiness infused the work.
