HULA is from the Collage Wallpaper series, developed from using printed pattern samples of my original wallpaper designs as backgrounds to layer mixed media collages on top of. These unique, textured compositions combine abstract shapes, vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and fragments of drawings and paintings, forming visual narratives that invite personal interpretation.
The deep brown background in HULA is a like rich earth, providing depth for the outlined and opaque shapes that intersect above it. It started with a photograph of orchids that were digitally abstracted, taking the unique and beautiful elements of the shape of the flower, and turning it into a pattern.
Three silhouetted figures cross the picture field in a line dance. A striking red bolt intersects near the middle, creating a bold pull drawing the viewer's eye back and forth through their spirited journey.

• The frames are handcrafted with 100% wood profiles and made in the USA. Acid-free, archival 4-ply matting and backing. Acrylic clear glazing with superior UV protection. Everything required for hanging is included.
