The Wallpaper Collage series emerged from layering mixed media compositions onto printed samples of my original wallpaper designs. These richly textured works blend abstract forms, vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and fragments of drawings and paintings—creating visual narratives that invite open interpretation and emotional connection.

“Sevens” unfolds as a playful, slightly tipsy landscape layered atop an original patterned wallpaper. What could be an abstracted vision of the Irish hills, the Scottish moors, or a tucked-away Swiss mountainside is loosely blocked into two dominant vertical fields—offering a sense of depth against an otherwise flattened plane. Two bold, scarlet forms slash across the composition—one aiming into a jagged mountain shape, alive with expressive sketch-like markings.

The result is regal and unpredictable, with a touch of intentional disorder. There’s a stately elegance to the structure, yet it’s tinged with looseness and spontaneity. Sevens hints at an imagined history and suggests a pastime rooted in fun.
