Sometimes I go around New York City and just photograph the street art on walls outside. There’s so much there, and there’s layers that have been pulled off, pasted on top of, spray painted over, etc.

 The compositions that I capture are my own take on what’s out there. We all see things differently, if we even see them at all. Street art can blend into the background or be taken for granted and not given its due. But it’s as significant as Egyptian hieroglyphics. Art on buildings instead of caves or temple walls. These are the markings of our civilization.

This piece blends a sun-like pattern that’s been pasted on top of with black and white graffiti. Patterns and pictures and the ‘gold’ sticker—all part of the mix that got sprayed with ‘ACC.’ Everything is cryptic, yet open-ended for interpretation.
