As Of Yet – from the HOT-TO-GO series, 2024. 8"x10" Painting Print
The HOT-TO-GO series began with a large painting I created last summer, inspired by the Channel Tres song All My Friends—especially the lyric, “I wanna see all my friends at once.” That idea moved me, so I threw a rooftop birthday party, invited everyone I loved, and made a large, vibrant painting for guests to take selfies in front of. After the party, I hung it in my apartment, where it still greets me daily with warmth and joy.
Later that year, on a very cold winter day, I took close-up photos of that canvas and was struck by how much energy and optimism each small section still held.
Those details became the HOT-TO-GO series: take-away details of joy, warmth, and memory. Abstract art uses shapes, colors, and gestures to spark the imagination of the viewer so that they think about their own narratives or even reinvent them.
Sweeping, hot colors playfully swing from hot pinks and tangerine to a shock of bright turquoise and lime. The action hints at something that’s in progress but hasn’t been determined yet.
