I like to draw spontaneously, letting shapes and curves emerge intuitively and play off one another in the moment. The lines and edges of my drawing are crisp, clean and fluid. I’ve found that when I add paint to these drawings by traditional methods, the body of the paint compromises and diminishes the original purpose of the drawing’s lines.

So, I developed a digital painting technique—I scan the drawing and paint it using pixels in Photoshop. This method preserves the sharpness and flow of each gesture.

The neon colors and playful shapes give this piece a happy, festive energy. At the center, a vibrant figure in magenta, fuchsia, red, and violet is supported by a chartreuse curve that’s pressing up against a bold turquoise form—creating a stabilizing pattern amidst the overall movement. A Kelly green arm arcs outward from the central figure, curving towards a large, waiting blue dot.

The composition feels like a burst of celebration—reminiscent of Mardi Gras or a children’s birthday party—full of rhythm, color, and joyful momentum.
