I look at things with color and space in mind. My work is inspired by what I see, hear and read about ... the use of pattern ... communicating visual ideas ... choosing the unexpected color.

Everything that I've done before influences what I do now.

I like to combine, layer, and juxtapose ... attracting a new opportunity ... scanned roses and geometric patterns of color and shape ... layered collages. I build each piece from many pieces, gathering, adding, taking away, to reveal what's beneath. I love to see what goes together, how elements and colors respond to each other within a composition. Something fundamental and exquisite. What I saw today.

All of my work is done on a Macintosh computer. The collages are created in Adobe Photoshop. My sources are varied: scanned-in flowers, photos, postcards, maps, found patterns, etc. I pile banks of images onto a digital canvas, then weave them into a visual story, by layering backwards and forwards, adding on and then deleting. The possibilities are ruled by instinct.

BIO.I have been making art since I was 3. I was born in New Jersey, where I have lived for most of my life (except for 10 years in Brooklyn). After receiving a BA in Fine Art from Rutgers University, I started working in Manhattan, pursuing a career in Graphic Design. Currently I am a Creative Director at a publishing house and live in Montclair, NJ with my two daughters.

The original artwork on this site is available for licensing for products and accessories, from wallpaper to dessert plates, as well as ready-made wall prints that come in a range of sizes and are digitally printed on gallery-wrapped canvas.
